0.25mm Double Sided Adhesive Acrylic Foam Tape

A high-performance, ultra-thin VHB tape alternative engineered for the most demanding industrial applications. This permanent, double sided foam tape provides an invisible, weatherproof, and durable bond, effectively serving as an adhesive to replace rivets and welds.

Acrylic Foam Tape Material

Crafted from 100% closed-cell acrylic foam, this tape offers unparalleled performance. Unlike conventional tapes, our Adhesive Acrylic Foam Tape creates a permanent seal that resists water, UV light, and extreme temperatures, ensuring long-term durability for both indoor and outdoor projects. The conformable foam core fills gaps on irregular surfaces, distributing stress evenly to absorb vibration and impact. This vibration damping foam tape is a critical component for sound deadening and protecting delicate assemblies. Its viscoelastic, acrylic core adhesive strip is the ultimate screwless mounting solution for professionals in Automotive, Electronics Manufacturing, Signage, and Construction.

General Industrial Manufacturing:

This high-performance bonding tape is a versatile workhorse. Use it for general assembly, nameplate and badge mounting, or bonding Low Surface Energy (LSE) plastics like Polypropylene (PP) and ABS Plastic (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) with an adhesive promoter for acrylic tape. As a leading industrial adhesive tape distributor, we offer this tape as a permanent bonding solution that streamlines production lines. For specialized needs, we provide die-cutting services for foam tape to create custom gaskets and seals.

Automobiles and Transportation:

In the Automotive Industry, this product serves as a high-grade automotive trim mounting tape. It is the best tape for outdoor mounting of body side molding, weatherstripping, and car emblems. This automotive grade foam tape supplier ensures a bond that withstands harsh weather and car washes. Its ability to bond dissimilar materials makes it perfect for attaching plastic component assembly tape to metal frames.

Application Guide: How to Achieve Maximum Bond Strength

To unlock the full potential of this Acrylic Foam Tape, proper surface preparation is key. Follow these steps for a bond with high shear strength and high peel adhesion.

  1. Surface Preparation: Clean all substrates with a surface cleaner for bonding, ideally a 50:50 mix of Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) and water using isopropyl alcohol prep pads. The surface must be completely clean, dry, and unified.
  2. Primer for LSE Surfaces: For materials like Polypropylene (PP) or surfaces with powder coating, applying a thin, even coat of an appropriate adhesive promoter for acrylic tape is essential. You can learn more by reading [our guide on surface preparation for acrylic tape].
  3. Application: Apply the double sided foam tape to the first substrate, using a roller for tape application to ensure firm, even pressure. This eliminates air pockets and guarantees full contact.
  4. Bonding: Carefully remove the red PET film liner and align the second substrate. Apply firm pressure (around 15 PSI) across the entire surface to activate the pressure-sensitive adhesive.
  5. Dwell Time: The bond strength builds over time. It will reach approximately 90% of its ultimate strength within 24 hours and 100% within 72 hours at room temperature.
FAQ

Popular Question

Our VHB tapes can be used to bond a variety of substrates, including metals (such as aluminum, stainless steel), glass, various plastics (such as acrylic, polycarbonate, ABS), and coated surfaces. For low surface energy plastics (such as PP, PE), a primer may be required.

For best bonding results, the surface should be clean, dry, free of oil and dust. A mixture of isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and water (50/50) is recommended for cleaning.

VHB tape develops initial tack immediately after pressure is applied. It typically reaches approximately 50% of final strength after 20 minutes, approximately 90% after 24 hours, and 100% final bond strength after 72 hours (specific times may vary depending on temperature and substrate).

Yes, many GMARK VHB tape series offer excellent weather resistance, including UV resistance, tolerance to high and low temperature fluctuations, and water resistance, making them well-suited for various outdoor applications. For example, they are widely used in architectural curtain walls, outdoor signage, automotive exterior trims, etc. It's important to select a specific VHB model rated for outdoor use; please consult the product specifications or our technical support.

Under recommended storage conditions (typically room temperature 20-25°C / 68-77°F, and 40-60% relative humidity), G MARK VHB tape generally has a shelf life of 18 to 24 months from the date of manufacture. Please store the tape in its original packaging, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity to ensure optimal performance. Refer to the product's technical data sheet for specific shelf life information.
